Exceptional Student Week
Exceptional Children's Week was celebrated March 6-10, 2006 at South
Atlanta
High School. Many activities were implemented reflecting an increased
awareness, respect, and compassion for people with disabilities.
Students in
all grade levels were invited to participate and encouraged to reflect
upon
some aspect of their relationship with a person with a disability and
what they
have learned from that person. The FREE HUGS day was the highlight for
the week.
Coordinators felt Jason's vision for free hugs tied in nicely with this
year's theme, "Embracing Differences."
